Sunny brings over six years of experience in emergency response and program development with CORE, where she focused on serving communities through people-centered, responsive programming. Her work has spanned the continent, Alaska, Hawaiʻi, Puerto Rico, and internationally, supporting disaster response and long-term recovery in marginalized communities.
She brings strengths in community mobilization, team leadership, and a deep commitment to listening and meeting people where they are. Sunny joins Maui United Way following her initial work here after the Lahaina fire and now serves as our Program Director, helping to guide our programmatic strategy and community investments.
Hawaiʻi has long been a heart home for Sunny, and she shares that same deep care for community that grounds our work. As a proud Korean, she often expresses care through food and looks forward to sharing a meal together soon.
